DEL NORTE — The boil water advisory has been lifted and customers of the Town of Del Norte Water System can now use tap water for all purposes.
After routine water tests revealed bacterial contamination in the water last Friday, November 8th, local officials worked with Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s Water Quality Control Division to correct the problem.
The 10 random samples taken on Monday, November 11th, from throughout the town, as well as a well source sample, came in on Tuesday absent of bacteria.
The water supply has now been determined to be safe for consumption and all restrictions have been removed for water use.
There were no confirmed cases of water borne bacterial illness during this incident.
It is recommended that residents who have appliances that dispense ice or water replace filters prior to beginning to use them.
