SARGENT—Finding running lanes and moving the ball downfield is something the Sargent Farmers had little resistance with this past Saturday as they opened up the 8-Man Playoffs with a dominating 63-16 win over Vail Christian.
Because of this the Farmers will advance to the quarterfinals for a rematch from earlier this season. The Farmers will host the Dayspring Christian Academy Eagles, who are 10-0 on the season, on Saturday at 1 p.m. The two teams met on Sept. 13 with the Eagles getting a 52-0 win by using a stellar defense.
This past Saturday, the run was the clear focus by the Farmers as they carried the ball 55 times for 374 yards. Senior quarterback Nate Ramirez was carried the ball the most as he had 20 carries for 177 yards and four touchdowns. In the passing game, Ramirez was only able to connect on five passes, out of 11 attempts, for 56 yards. He did have two touchdowns and one interception.
