Alamosa resident reported missing

Posted: Friday, Oct 25th, 2013

ALAMOSA — The Alamosa Police Department is investigating a missing person report for Alamosa resident James Robert Martinez whose family has not heard from in about two weeks.

The police department has checked with the hospital, Detox, and Alamosa County Detention Center, none of whom reported treating or housing Martinez recently. On the afternoon of October 7, Martinez was transported to San Luis Valley Health for a medical clearance and walked away from the ER and has not been seen by medical personnel since that time.

Martinez’s sister Betty Gurule reported her brother missing to police on October 23, relating that she had not seen him in about two weeks and it was not like him to be gone this long without telling someone where he was going. She had contacted everyone she knew who might know where he was, and no one had seen or heard from Martinez for about two weeks.

Martinez has several medical issues, and his family is worried something may have happened to him.

Martinez has no permanent address.

The case remains active. Anyone with information please contact the Alamosa Police Department at 589-2548.
