ALAMOSA — Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet (D) spent time at a John Deere dealership in Alamosa as part of his “Coloradans Don’t Shut Down” tour on Tuesday.

During the tour, Bennet is traveling across the state performing a variety of everyday jobs to highlight the contrast between Colorado and Washington, DC: Coloradans don’t shut down. They do their jobs day-in and day-out and meet their responsibilities and obligations.

Bennet bussed tables in Manitou Springs, joined the Pueblo Police Department for a ride-along and worked at meats at a processing facility in addition to visiting U.S. Tractor & Harvest, Inc., the John Deere dealership. He plans to continue his tour with substitute teaching in Denver, serving beer at a brewery in Grand Junction and helping to sort and package onions at a farm in Olathe.

“I am here today basically to remind everybody that Colorado notwithstanding the idiotic government shutdown is not shut down and basically will continue to work,” Bennet said in Alamosa.
