Poverty stems from a lack of education, not a lack of money.
When calculating and complaining about a new school tax, be sure to calculate the cost of poverty too. Then take the overall cost of poverty and factor in the cost of
Shortly thereafter the complaining will come automatically and a negative approach to all is engraved into a daily way of life.
We the people of Antonito need to rise above, come together and meet this challenge. We need to show that we are a proud people and that we can build a new school that will reflect our dedication to a worthwhile cause. Our children don’t deserve to be told “No” and that they are not worthy. This is our time, our moment to say, “YES” to an opportunity, prosperity and a chance to change what will define who we are, what legacy is left to our children and the future of this town. The ”torch of opportunity” is in our hands and we own this privilege, let’s not pass this torch to another community.
Antonito and its sister villages are in the spot light and will we rise to meet this challenge? Although some will discourage any possible hope of this dream, can we as a community pull together and win this quest for a new school. Yes on 3A is saying that we believe in all of our students and we as the voters will become their voice, their hope for a bright future. Antonito’s history has had other opportunities of this magnitude but unfortunately the “NO” voters directed the current course that we are on today. Can we unite and overcome the “No” mentality of the past and bring in a positive vision and a course that will introduce a new outlook in our way of life.
YES on 3A –
•We believe in the greater good of Antonito and we will invest into the economic and educational base
• We care and are committed to our community and the students
• We are part of a legacy project
• We, the residents of South Conejos School District are worth it
• Yes, we are the children’s voice and they need this.
