Civil Air Patrol promotes six

VALLEY Heart of the Rockies Composite Squadron promoted six Cadets on October 10. In order to be able to become promoted the Cadets test in leadership, aerospace education, drill proficiency, physical fitness and be approved by the review board.

Civil Air Patrol is an Auxiliary of the US Air Force and the rank advancements correspond to the Air Force Ranks. Civil Air Patrol was formed during World War II to protect the coasts, and plane spotters looked for German planes throughout the USA. Civil Air Patrol squadrons are throughout the United States and the State of Colorado. This past month the CAP Squadrons on the Front Range used CAP planes and pilots to do aerial photos of the floods this past month.
