ALAMOSA COUNTY — Many San Luis Valley farmers have been victims of recent thefts, and the Alamosa County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) is aware and putting a stop to the illegal activity.
On Tuesday, Oct. 1, information developed from a traffic stop led to the recovery of 11 batteries that had been sold for scrap, according to an ACSO press release. Of these 11 batteries tested, eight were found to be good batteries and not scrap. None of the 11 batteries were obtained legally.
Gerardo Rodriguez-Aguirre, 48, was contacted in possession of the 11 batteries he had purchased with out complying with Colorado law, according to the press release. He was charged and has an appearance in Alamosa County Court. For the complete article see the 10-08-2013 issue.
