Cold snap hits Alamosa

ALAMOSA ó The unmistakable signs have arrived: the leaves are turning, thereís a chill in the air and the Cole Park squirrels seem bolder than ever.

Itís time to break out the big sweaters, dust off the rakes, and do some cuddling by the fire, because the first major cold snap of the season has rolled into Alamosa.

The high in Alamosa Friday was in the low 50s, and it could get down to as low as 14 in some parts of town Friday night and Saturday morning, said Steve Hodanish, a forecaster with the National Weather Service Office in Pueblo. It could be close to record low for this time of year.
