COLORADO SPRINGS– Seven San Luis Valley agencies, including three fire departments will share in $67,653 in grants recently awarded by the El Pomar Foundation here.
The largest grant awarded in the latest round of gifts went to Tu Casa; $25,000 for the San Luis Valley Child Advocacy Center, as part of El Pomar’s competitive grant program. Another $5,000 in competitive grants went to Adams State University Foundation for the school’s Community Partners program.
Rio Grande County drew the second highest SLV grant with $16,263 to support immediate needs of individuals impacted by the West Fork Fire. Those funds, and grants supporting local fire departments, came from El Pomar’s Wild Land Fire Fund.For the complete article see the 09-19-2013 issue.
