Bear sow, cub are captured

ALAMOSAĖ Attempts to subdue a mature, cinnamon colored Black bear and her cub ended with capture about 6:30 p.m. last night (Monday) with the help of the Alamosa Fire Department in the 1300 block of Second Street.

The AFDís new platform truck was called to action to get wildlife officers high enough into a large pine tree to tranquilize the sow whose cub was captured earlier. After a slow tumble through the branches, officials pulled the sow into a waiting livestock trailer where her cub waited in a smaller cage.
