DENVER—The Adams State Women’s Soccer Team, which opened up the season last week with a 2-0 win over Central Washington, cruised to an easier win this past weekend as they won their match with Johnson & Wales University, 14-0.

Allie Mercado, who scored both goals against CWU, added an additional goal in the ninth minute of Saturday’s contest. She leads the team while Dezirae Armijo (18th and 35th minutes), Laci Jones (3rd and 76th minute), Emily Therkildsen (37th and 81st minute), and Amy Salinas (53rd and 76th minutes) scored two goals each.

Hailey Zobel (2nd minute) Alexa Romek (45th minute), Kylie Ramirez (61st minute), Hope Cruz (82nd minute) and Jenezza Sandoval (84th minute) also each found the net to round out the scoring for Adams State.

Hanna Kohlts, who is now 2-0 as the Grizzly goaltender, only had to make two saves on Saturday and added to her season save total, she now has eight.

Kohlts and the Grizzlies look to keep their shutout streak going on Sunday when they host the Texas A&M International Dustdevils at the ASU Soccer and Lacrosse Field. First kick is scheduled for 10 a.m.
