ALAMOSA ó†A City of Alamosa truck cruised north on Highway 17 earlier this week, and its joyride wasnít authorized.
At around 2 p.m. on Thursday, a 1992 orange City of Alamosa Chevy Pickup was stolen out of Alamosa City Hallís parking lot, 300 Hunt Ave., according to Alamosa Police Department (APD) reports. The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) spotted the truck traveling north that afternoon. There have been no further sightings.
The truck has the cityís logo on both sides and its truck bed was filled with orange traffic cones when the crime was committed, according to APD reports. The City of Alamosa Parks and Recreation Department was using the truck that afternoon, but it was unoccupied when stolen.
The APD is reviewing video surveillance as part of the ongoing investigation, according to APD reports. The suspect appears to be a Hispanic male who was wearing a white t-shirt when the crime was committed.
