Drunk pedestrian causes crash

ALAMOSA An intoxicated man stumbling onto Main Street caused a motorcycle to crash last Saturday.

Gilbert Baca, 53, Alamosa, crossed the land of traffic on the busy street, forcing Matthew Thies, 26, Alamosa, to strike him on his 2005 Suzuki motorcycle, sending both men to San Luis Valley Health for serious injuries, according to an Alamosa Police Department (APD) report.

Baca was sited with failing to yield to the right-of-way and for being a pedestrian on a highway under the influence of alcohol, according to the APD report. His blood preliminary breath test results registered at .310.
