ALAMOSA — Six out of seven Alamosa Board of Education (ABOE) seats are up for grabs this November.
District Seven’s Melvin DeHerrera is the only official who is not up for reelection this year, and his spot won’t open up until 2015.
2013’s validated ABOE contenders are:
•District 1: Charlie Sanchez and Julie Waechter
•District 2: Eric Gile and Keith Vance (incumbent)
•District 3: Neil Hammer (incumbent)
•District 4: Erica Romero (incumbent)
•District 5: Mandy Jackson, Brian Reeves and Dale Salazar
•District 6: Daren Bolt, Kevin Carpenter and Arlan Van Ry (incumbent)
Present ABOE president Bill Van Gieson, District 5, and secretary Christine Haslett, District 1, will not seek reelection.
