Eleven seek four seats in city election

ALAMOSA Alamosa city council candidates are confirmed with several choices in each race.

Candidate Kristina Daniel has withdrawn from the mayoral race, leaving current City Councilmen Charles Griego and Josef Lucero still in the running in addition to Alamosa businessman David Broyles. Current Mayor Kathy Rogers has decided not to seek re-election.

The order the mayoral candidates will appear on the ballot, according to Alamosa City Clerk Judy Egbert, is:

Josef Lucero

Charlie Griego

David Broyles

Voters also have three choices in the at-large race, with the order on the ballot as follows:

Jan Vigil

Farris Bervig, former long-time mayor

Marcia Tuggle, incumbent seeking re-election

Two candidates are running for the Ward 2 position currently held by Rusty Johnson. The order they will appear on the November ballot is:

Rusty Johnson

Darrel Cooper

In the Ward 4 contest, three residents are seeking the position currently held by Councilman Leland Romero. The order in which they will appear on the ballot is:

David Mize

Leland Romero

Michael Stefano

Egbert said all of the candidates listed above have been verified and are official candidates in the 2013 city election. The order they will be listed on the ballot was conducted by drawing and reflects no other priority.
