ALAMOSA — At-risk youths could soon have another place to call home.
Alamosa County commissioners voted unanimously on Wednesday to approve a special-use permit for a residential child-care facility at 7880 Timothy Lane.
The board previously tabled the request from applicants Andres Montoya and Della Prince. But commissioners said they felt comfortable moving forward with the special use permit, after Alamosa County Attorney Jason Kelly cleared up their concerns about the permit.
However, the board’s action is not the last step that the applicants must take before they can move forward with the proposed Lavender Trails Ranch. They must still go through the state licensing process, and Commissioner Marianne Dunne said she expects that Colorado regulators will be vigilant.
