LAKEWOOD – Valley resident Lisa Denise Walker, 49, passed away on August 4, 2013 at the St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado.
Lisa was born on May 23, 1964 in Denver, Colorado to Josef Baal and Sherille Crounk Baal. She grew up in Denver and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1982. Following her graduation she married her high school sweetheart Gary Walker on August 7, 1982 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denver. She attended Barnes Business School in Denver for two years. When Gary joined the Marines, Lisa had the opportunity to live in numerous military bases as a Marine wife. Of all of the places he was stationed, she enjoyed living in Jacksonville North Carolina the most. She enjoyed photography, spending time in her yard, planting and take care of flowers. She enjoyed watching hummingbirds and especially spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband Gary Walker of Mosca, her children; Amanda (Kevin) Alexander of Mosca, Lindsay Walker of Centreville, VA, Ashleigh (John) Snyder of Brush, Colorado, Eliana Walker, Angel Walker and Isaiah Walker all of Mosca, her grandchildren; Chesney and Michael Alexander and Logan and Layna Snyder, her mother Sherille Baal of Manassa, her sister Corrina Kennedy and brother Joey Baal as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Lisa was preceded in death by her father Josef Baal and her two infant brothers Galvin and Burt Baal.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday August 12, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening August 11, 2013 at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa with a Vigil Service with recitation of the Rosary being held at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow services in the Alamosa Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Lisa Walker Memorial Fund to financially aid in children’s cancer research. Contributions may be made in care of Rogers Family Mortuary.
