ALAMOSA — San Luis Valley Quilt Guild’s ninth annual show will be June 28, 29, and 30 at the Inn of the Rio Grande atrium, 333 Santa Fe Ave. (E. Hwy. 160) in Alamosa.

Commemorating the Alamosa county centennial, a display of antique quilts will be featured. A unique quilt including landmarks of the county and its history, made as a group effort of the guild and donated to the county, will be on display.

A new section of art quilts that have become popular with guild artists will be shown. In addition, small, medium and large quilts and guild challenge quilts will be displayed.

All levels of expertise are represented, from novice quilters to quilters whose work has been shown in national shows, contests or magazines.

Show opening is Friday, June 28, from 6-9 p.m. On Saturday, June 29, the show starts at 8 a.m. and continues until 6 p.m. The last day of the show is Sunday, June 30 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Admission is by donation, and 2013 quilt raffle tickets will be sold for $1 each or $5 for six. Funds raised are used for quilting education and materials for charity quilts. The group donates numerous quilts yearly to hospitals, veterans’ groups, Victims’ Advocates and other causes.
