Celebrate summer with seniors

Posted: Wednesday, Jun 26th, 2013

Good morning everyone,

Seniors should involve themselves in activities to stay fit and prevent memory loss. Seniors that participate in group activities may share laughter and joy. This develops a bonding experience and playing games can relieve depression, anxiety and loneliness. Meeting new people can help seniors to acquire new interests and hobbies. Our hope here at the senior center is to get more seniors involved in activities and trips.

In July we are going to the Creede Theater to see “Around the World in 80 Days.” Come with us to see stampeding elephants, raging typhoons and runaway trains. The van leaves the senior center at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10. Call us to make reservations.

Our pool tournament with Monte Vista will be here tomorrow the 27th. Come in and watch the tournament. It is a lot of fun.

July 4th there is going to be a wonderful celebration in the park for Alamosa County’s 100th anniversary. Come and celebrate with us. There will be so many activities plus a great parade. The Alamosa Senior Center will be in charge of the beer garden.

See you next week
