Letter to the Editor: Never engulfed

Posted: Thursday, May 2nd, 2013

Please allow me to clear the air. We have become part of Ed Lyell’s ridiculous complaint about our good neighbor’s burning. Our home was never engulfed in smoke. We did not even smell smoke in the house. Our young children were not affected in any way by the weeds being burned. We enjoy the way it looks with the weeds gone and look forward each spring to the lovely view unhindered by weeds. We appreciate the old hay stack being burned because it is a refuge for mice. Interesting that Lyell should mention standing on his porch and shooting because he has on several occasions threatened to shoot into our yard, scaring my grandson so badly that he becomes very fearful whenever he sees Lyell’s vehicle. We consider him to be much more of a threat than a little smoke. I feel he might be better suited to living in a condo in town.
