Nikki Loftis is state pageant finalist

VALLEY — Nikki Laine Loftis, 17, daughter of Rick and Bobbi Loftis, has been chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss Colorado Pageant to be held June 30 at the Marriott in Denver. The National American Miss pageants are held for girls ages 4-18 and have five different age divisions. Nikki will be participating in the teen age division.

Her activities include Zumba, spending time with family and friends, being outdoors and baking.

She is sponsored by L&M Auto Sales, Valley Textile, Alpine Electric, Don and Myra Smit, Roy and Felicia Garcia, The Ink Pusher, Bealls, Janet Morrison, Brianna Gallegos, Nanci Alley and Sherri Sage.

The winner of the pageant will receive a $1,000 cash award, crown and banner, roses and air transportation to compete in the National Pageant in California where she will receive complimentary tickets to Disneyland and a tour of Hollywood.

The National American Miss Pageants are dedicated to celebrating America’s future leaders and equipping them with lifelong skills. Activities and competitions are kept age appropriate. For example, girls under age 12 are not allowed to wear makeup, and there is no swimsuit competition.

The pageant program is based on inner beauty as well as poise and presentation. Emphasis is put on the importance of developing self confidence, learning good sportsmanship and setting/achieving personal goals.
