CARTHAGE, Tenn. — Reetha Barbara Whittier-Henry, 77, Carthage, Tennessee, died on April 23, 2013.
She was born on August 5, 1935 to Reed Whittier and Bertha (Roberts) Whittier.
She married JC Henry who survives.
Growing up in the San Luis Valley, Reetha graduated from High School in Monte Vista, Colorado in 1954
Reetha worked in retail sales and was a writer.
Survivors include her husband JC Henry; sons Danny (Reatha Kay) Ruggles of California and Larry Ruggles of Utah; grandsons Ryan Ruggles of California and Cameron Ruggles of Utah; a brother Harold (Linda) Whittier of Beaver Dam, Arizona and two sisters Phyllis Whittier of New Mexico and Judy (Ron) Peterson of Monte Vista, Colorado along with many nieces and nephews.
Reetha was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter Diane Ruggles.
Reetha lived in numerous states. She loved people in general and never knew a stranger. Reetha considered her life to be one big adventure. Reetha was a teacher of life and never stopped learning herself. Her proudest accomplishment was writing her book “Wish Bone.” Her family and friends from around the country will sorely miss her wonderful smile.
