Field trip

ALAMOSA —Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) Commissioners are in the Valley this week for a meeting, and on Thursday they took a field trip to the Native Aquatic Species Hatchery on Alamosa County Road 106. Hatchery Superintedent Ted Smith took the commissioners on a tour of the facility, which included fish breeding areas and a chance to water Boreal toads. CPW Director Rick Cables, far right, learned about fish breeding practices from Dave Westerman, far left, and Jim Garcia, center.
