ALAMOSA – Longtime valley resident Lloyd Dean McEwen, 72, passed away on March 20, 2013 in Alamosa.
Lloyd was born on April 14, 1940 in Del Norte, Colorado to Lloyd E. and Lavern L. McEwen. He honorably served in the United States Army. He married Lorena Marie Eberly in Alamosa, Colorado on December 9, 1967. Lloyd worked for many years as the farm manager for the Federal Game and Fish Department. He could fix anything he laid his hands on and enjoyed fishing and listening to music. Lloyd was a devoted family man and his family meant everything to him.
He is survived by his wife Lorena McEwen of Alamosa, his children; Terry (James) Shaffer of Sanford, Lloyd Jr. (Shannon) McEwen of Westcliffe, Colorado, Deedee (David) Sidie of Colorado Springs and Ashlie (Billy) Bradley of Mosca, along with his grandchildren, Kayla (Joshua), Cody, Trenton, Tyler, Kenedi, Kyndall, Hailie, Emalie, Mylie, Cody Joe and Holly, his great grandchildren, Hayden and Alycia as well as his siblings Pat McEwen of Florida and Zack (Deana) of Grand Junction, Colorado and his sisters-in-law Susie McEwen, Sue McEwen, and Mary McEwen.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings; Zelma, Eugene, John and Joe as well as niece Chris and nephew Michele.
Cremation was selected and a Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday March 25, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa.
