ALAMOSA — Alamosa city council should have a short list of finalists for the city manager position soon.
The council met with consultant KRW and Associates on Monday night in executive session to review candidates for the job and pare down the applicant list. The city had received 44 applications for the position vacated earlier this year by Nathan Cherpeski who moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon.
Interim City Manager Craig Dodd, Alamosa’s police chief, stated on Wednesday the council had given approval to the consultant to approach and verify the interest of six finalist candidates.
“It is our hope to publicly announce the finalists next Monday,” Dodd said.
In addition, Dodd said the city council has tentatively identified Thursday, April 4 and Friday, April 5 for a candidate community reception and interviews.
