Silfredo “Sigy” Gomez, 79

Silfredo “Sigy” Gomez, 79, of Antonito, CO, went to be with the Lord on March 4, 2013. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Emilio and Elisa Gomez; and siblings, Helen Gomez, Moby Gomez, Dorothy Gomez and Johnny Gomez. 

Sigy is survived by his children, Audrey Gomez, Jeff Gomez, Nick (Loriann) Gomez and Kevin (Marissa) Gomez;  9 grandchildren;  8 great grandchildren;  siblings, Viola Gomez, Ernie (Elaine) Gomez, Kiko Gomez, Mark Gomez, Leonard Medina, Theresa Gomez and Clarence Lopez;  and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. 

Sigy was born in San Rafael in 1933.  He worked hard his whole life.  He enjoyed farming, cars racing and horses.  He owned Chevron Service Station and Sigy’s Head and Machine Shop.  He was a friend to many people. 

Cremation has taken place.  Memorial service 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Romero Chapel, Pueblo, CO with reception to follow at Romero Courtesy Hall.
