Denver resident, former Alamosa resident, Orlando Leroy Rivera, 77, went to be with the Lord on March 4, 2013, the son of Timoteo Rivera and Bertina Espinoza Rivera. Orlando was enlisted in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. His hobbies included shopping in antique shops, woodworking, gambling and spending time with his family. Survivors include his lifetime partner Rachel Romero-Gallegos of Denver, CO; three step-children Herman, Anthony and Priscilla Gallegos of Denver, CO; two sisters Esther Uliberri of Denver, CO; Carol Chacon of Alamosa, CO; two brothers Levi (Lucy) Rivera of Pueblo, CO; Timothy Rivera of Alamosa, CO; he is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Orlando was preceded in death by his parents Timoteo and Bertina Rivera, brother Gilbert Rivera and brother-in-laws Eugene Chacon, and Joe Uliberri.
A Prayer Service will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013, at 7:00 PM at the Romero Funeral Home in Alamosa. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 10:00 AM also at the Romero Funeral Home of Alamosa. Interment will be held in the Los Sauces Cemetery with full military honors. Local arrangements are under the direction of Romero Funeral Home of Alamosa.
