Wilbur Felix Maestas, 76

SAN PABLO — Lifelong San Pablo resident Wilbur Felix Maestas, 76, passed away on February 1, 2013 at home under hospice care surrounded by his loving family.

Wilbur was born at home April 27, 1936 in San Pablo, Colorado to Felix and Placida (Gallegos) Maestas.

Wilbur was united in marriage to Edna Rael on November 28, 1957 in San Luis, Colorado and raised two children Louise (Kenny) Segura and Steve (Eileen) Maestas both in San Pablo.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle. He lived all his life in San Pablo. He loved the great outdoors. He enjoyed working his farm, raising his animals and crops. He loved his walks in nature and spending time with family and friends. He was known for his great sense of humor, telling jokes and pulling pranks. He enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved that they were raised nearby to see his hard working values being instilled in them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Placida, two brothers; Huberto Maestas and Donald Maestas, five sisters; Belinda Rodriguez, Bersabe Rivera, Amelia Quintana, Marianita Arellano, and Wilma Maestas.

He is survived by his loving wife Edna, his children, his grandchildren; Lorenzo (Mike) Segura, Dina Segura, Kevin (Stephanie Carino) Maestas and Amber Maestas, his great grandchildren; Heaven Gurule, Jeremiah Maestas, Noah Segura, and Aaliyah Segura Mitchell and Jayden DeLeon and numerous other relatives.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Monday, February 4, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. and on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 from 1-5 p.m. at Weylen’s Funeral Home Chapel in San Pablo.

A Rosary will be held on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Weylen’s Funeral Home in San Pablo and on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Sangre De Cristo Parish in San Luis.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Sangre De Cristo Parish in San Luis with interment to follow at Chama Cemetery.
