CREEDE — The Creede Community Players will present “Night of January 16,” a murder trial set in the Depression Era, drama-comedy at CRT’s Ruth Theatre. Remaining performances will be Saturday, February 2 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, February 3 at 1:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale 45 minutes before the show. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for students. ALAMOSA — Adams State University will present Ernie Hudson in the one-man play Ghost in the House about Jack Johnson, the first African-American heavyweight boxing champion. Two performances will be held in the Adams State Theatre on Saturday, Feb. 2: a matinee at 2 p.m. and an evening performance at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $5 for AS&F members, $10 for the general public. MONTE VISTA — Enjoy a delicious breakfast at Tri-County Senior Citizens Center, 311 Washington St. in Monte Vista on Saturday, February 2, from 8-10 a.m. This meal includes French toast, sausage, scrambled eggs, juice and coffee or tea.

HOOPER — The U.S. Postal Service will hold a meeting about options for the Hooper Post Office at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6 in the Sangre de Cristo High School Cafeteria, 8751 Lane 7 North, Hooper. Options range from reduced hours to discontinued service in Hooper.



Thursday, February 7



ALAMOSA — Ortega Middle School will host parent-teacher conferences and Theatre O will hold a chili pie dinner fundraiser from 4-7:30 p.m. on Feb. 7. Parent teacher conferences will also be held Feb. 12 from 4-7:30 p.m.

ANTONITO — A Valentine’s Dance will be held at the Antonito Senior Citizens on Friday, February 8, from 1-4 p.m.  Music by Donald Garcia.  Bring a favorite snack.  Admission is $3.



ALAMOSA —Through May, the Adams State University Luther Bean Museum is displaying a selection of Cloyde Snook’s ceramic pots and Paul Moloney’s black-and-white photographs. An artist reception will be held from 4-6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, in the museum. Call 587-7151.



ALAMOSA — A retrospective exhibit of Stephen Quiller’s works at the Adams State University Cloyde Snook Gallery opens February 8. Quiller will present a lecture at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, followed by an opening reception in the gallery from 5-7 p.m. Call 587-7823.

MONTE VISTA — Come to a Valentines feast on Friday, February 8, at 311 Washington Street in Monte Vista. Dinner begins at 6 p.m. with baked ham and all the trimmings, dessert and a beverage. Saturday, February 9



ALAMOSA — The Muddy Mountain Orchestra will play on Saturday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m. at Milagros Coffeehouse, State Ave. and Main St. in Alamosa. Although donations of $7 for the general public, $5 for ALMA members, and $2 for students, seniors, full-time volunteers, military and veterans, are suggested, all are welcome and no one will be turned away.



SAGUACHE—The first annual “Stay Warm” Fiber Arts Workshop is on Saturday, Feb. 9, at the BEBOP Studio, 317 San Juan, in downtown Saguache. Workshop attendees can choose two half-day sessions (offered morning or afternoon) in wet or dry felting; “Warm Windows”; or a Raggy Quilt workshop. Alternatively, attendees can choose an all-day class in Colcha Embroidery. The “Stay Warm” Workshop runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A $50 fee includes lunch, beverages and snacks. Call 655-0216.

SAGUACHE — The 12th Annual Ranching Celebration will be held on Sunday, Feb. 10, at the Saguache Community Building from noon to whenever it’s done. The afternoon begins with a potluck meal so bring a favorite dish. The remainder of the afternoon will be filled with cowboy stories, songs and poems. CREEDE— The third annual Fat Tuesday celebration will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 12 from 5-9 p.m. in the Cave at the Community Center. Please bring a Fat Tuesday themed potluck dish. Admission is $5.
