GRAND JUNCTION — After spending 83 years with his loving family and friends, William J Eberhart (Bill), Grand Junction, Colorado returned to his Heavenly Father on January 30, 2013. Bill was born on Jan. 18, 1930 in Newark, NJ. He married the love of his life, Jo Anne on April 3, 1958. Together they raised four children. He served in the Korean War on the USS Yorktown. He loved flying and loved helping with search and rescue. Bill was an entrepreneur at heart, having owned several businesses in Colorado Springs and Alamosa, before retiring back to Grand Junction.
Bill joins his father and Mother, William J Eberhart Sr and Penelope, his brothers Harry and John. He is survived by his wife Jo Anne, his sons Steve (Edythe) Eberhart, Robert (Trish) Eberhart, and daughters Cheryl (Dennis) O’Dowd and Belinda (Louis) Toth, ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren, his brother Gardner (Donna) Eberhart and sister Norma (Jim) Miller and several nephews and nieces all that loved “Uncle Billy”.
Bill was a man of character who was filled with love and left an imprint on so many lives. He was a practical joker who loved his adventurous shortcuts. He was a great family man and was a spark to everyone. He will truly be missed.
A celebration of his life will be held at Callahan Edfast Mortuary, 2515 Paterson Road, Grand Junction, CO., at 4 p.m. on February 9, 2013. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado, 3090 North 12th, Grand Junction, CO, 81506.
