Ruben Daniel Navarro, 69

COLORADO SPRINGS Ruben Daniel Navarro, 69, of Colorado Springs, CO passed away on January 26, 2013 in Littleton, CO.

He was born on March 28, 1943 to Ruben and Corinne Navarro in Pueblo, CO. He was raised and graduated high school in San Luis, CO.

Dan worked for the United States Air Force beginning in the civil engineering department at the Air Force Academy and ending his career as the director of manpower and personnel at Shriver Air Force Base in Colorado Springs where he retired.

He enjoyed spending time with his loving family, traveling, playing cards with family and friends, skiing, and was an avid bowler.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Velma Gallegos of Colorado Springs, CO; his son Dr. Kevin Navarro of Littleton, CO; daughter in law Susan R. Navarro; his brothers James Navarro of Lakewood, CO, David Navarro of Honokaa, HI, and Thomas Navarro of Lakewood, CO/ San Francisco, CO; his sisters Patricia Navarro of Pueblo, CO and Victoria (George) Quintana of Pueblo, CO; his grandchildren (who were the light of his life) Timothy, Matthew, Joshua, Aaron and Naomi; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Ruben & Corinne Navarro of San Luis, CO and his sister Doris (Jerry) Wilcox of Denver, CO.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held On Saturday February 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Worship Center, 501 Castle Road in Colorado Springs, CO with a reception to follow at 12:30 p.m. at Otis Park Community Center, 731 Iowa Ave.
