Letter to the Editor: Second Amendment is about the rights of citizens to remain sovereign and free

Posted: Saturday, Jan 26th, 2013

The Second Amendment guarantees the sovereign citizens of America the right to own militia grade weaponry in order to overthrow any government that would attempt to deny the natural freedom and rights that had been fought for and won against the tyrannical rule of King George.

The minute-men militias made up of free individuals, owned and possessed the best combat weaponry on the face of the planet known as the Kentucky long “rifle” as opposed to the smooth bore British army musket that was much less accurate and thus less deadly. Which is why the Second Amendment reads, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” “Shall not be infringed” means this right shall not be shortened or affected by any government rules or regulations.

This also points out that this right is not about self-defense or hunting as both of these rights were in the late 1700’s viewed as natural as drawing a breath in order to stay alive, self-defense and hunting food for one’s self-survival were necessities of everyday life, so any statement that the Second Amendment is about self-defense or hunting is spurious at best and anti-constitutional tyranny at worst; but rather the Second Amendment is clearly about a free sovereign individual citizen’s right to own militia grade weaponry. For a free State must by necessity be defended by its free and sovereign citizens against foreign and domestic enemies that would try to usurp the freedoms enshrined and guaranteed to the sovereign citizens by the U.S. Constitution.

Evil and spiritually dark individuals have and always will exist, and while the original law giver and the laws of our society state that thou shall not steal, murder, rape, assault or plunder, the idea of making any human or government your ruling, trusted, and all providing God is both antithetical and idolatrous to our form of government.

While the spiritually dark ones bent on murder and mayhem may act as individuals and therefore grasp weapons into their hands to inflict their evil, it is when the spiritually dark grasp the reins of government into their hands that millions of innocents are slaughtered; Hitler, Stalin and Mao being modern examples. Government is the ultimate weapon of mass destruction, dwarfing and making miniscule any individual’s or group’s attempts.

So if we are no longer going to be “the land of free and home of the brave” we should absolutely ban all forms of government first less the spiritually dark ones grasp the reins of government and slaughter millions of innocents. But this reaction to the possibility of evil ones is as antithetical to our form of government as trusting government or abridging the Second Amendment is.

Rather we have taken sovereignty into our own hands so that government might always be our servant instead of visa versa and we become its victims, unable to defend ourselves from the evil ones in any form, individual or governmental.

Life is precious, wonderful, and wild and meant to be lived free, beware of anyone who would make it safer for you especially at the point of a gun. And it was at the point of a gun that Hitler, Stalin and Mao confiscated guns while promising a more orderly and safer society. “Trust me’” are the first words out of a tyrant’s mouth, followed by “This is for your own good and safety.”

Most sincerely,

Avery C Mac Cracken
