ALAMOSA — Alamosa resident Guadalupe Delgado, 88, passed away December 10, 2012 at his home under hospice care surrounded by his loving family. Guadalupe was born on January 4, 1924 in Chihuahua, Mexico the son of Reyes Delgado and Angelita Ruiz.
Guadalupe was a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother who enjoyed going to rodeos, he loved horses and his farm animals but above all he loved the time he spent with his family and friends.
Survivors include his daughters Velia (Ricardo) Sarinana of Phoenix, Ariz.; Martha (Jesus) Moreno of Monte Vista, Colo.; Socorro (Pedro) Marrufo of Alamosa, Colo.; sons Roberto Delgado (Ramona Sarinana) of Alamosa, Colo.; Guadalupe (Sofia) Delgado of Delhart, Texas; Gustavo (Mariana) Delgado of Monte Vista, Colo.; Adan (Olga) Delgado of Albuquerque, NM; Eloy Delgado of Alamosa, Colo.; Rene (Lorenza) Delgado of Albuquerque, NM; 43 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, sisters Carmen Nunez of Boulder, Colo.; Chalia Martinez of Chihuahua, Mexico. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Guadalupe was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sofia Delgado, three sisters Aurora Vargas, Magdalena Aguirre, Ramona Daniel, two brothers Manuel and Gabriel Delgado.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Romero Funeral Chapel in Alamosa. Interment will follow at the Alamosa Cemetery. Viewing and visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Romero Funeral Chapel in Alamosa who is in care of the arrangements.
