All-Valley football players honored Wednesday

The 2012 All-Valley Football Banquet took place on Wednesday night. During the night's festivities, All-Valley player of the Year Awards were announced. The winners were Sangre de Cristo's Mitchell Stagner and Sargent's Scott Dillon in the 8-Man division, Jareb Aziz of Centauri in the 11-Man Division and Shadron Wenta was named as the 2012 All-Valley Player of the Year. Wenta is the third player in the banquet's 33-year history to be named as the Player of the Year two years in a row following in the steps of Sanford Head Football Coach Rhett Larson and Alamosa standout Clay Garcia.
