It is the time of year for everyone to do a little traveling. Accident prevention is a serious concern for the senior traveler. Whether flying, driving or on a cruise ship, be extra careful about walkways, railings, steps and anywhere you are not certain about your footing that could cause you to fall. Do not rush for any reason, and if you are shaky about getting to your plane or any place on time be sure to get help.
Traveling seniors should take every measure to be safe from crime. Senior tourists are vulnerable and perfect targets for thieves and muggers, especially in big cities. Never venture down strange streets alone and if you are shopping be sure you do not carry large sums of money with you.
When you travel during this busy holiday season, know your physical limits as a senior. Be sure to apply your common sense. Have a safe and happy holiday season.
Saturday the 8th at 8:30 is the Alamosa Seniors Centerís annual Christmas Bazaar. We are hoping this will be our greatest bazaar ever, and with your help it will be. We have a great silent auction this year, a bake sale, crafts, white elephant and we are still selling raffle tickets for our beautiful quilt and other prizes. We are selling delicious breakfast burritos and cinnamon rolls. See you at the bazaar.
