ALAMOSA An Alamosa school bus driver was cited yesterday for causing an accident southwest of Alamosa, but none of his passengers was injured in the crash.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, which responded to the two-vehicle crash just before 3 p.m. on December 3, Gregory Lee Howard, 51, Alamosa was driving an Alamosa School District bus with six children on board on Alamosa County Road 102S, and stopped for the stop sign, facing north.

A 1995 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by Joni Lee Stockebrand, 31, was westbound on Colorado Highway 370 approaching the county road.

The State Patrol investigation revealed that the school bus pulled out in front of the Suburban, which was unable to stop. The front of the Suburban collided with the right rear corner of the bus. Both vehicles pulled onto County Road 102S and stopped.

The two-vehicle crash occurred approximately 10 miles southwest of Alamosa.

All the occupants were checked out on scene by emergency medical personnel, with no serious complaints of injuries.

The driver of the school bus was cited in the crash.
