ALAMOSA — Help prevent San Luis Valley kids from being without gifts this Christmas. For the seventh year the employees of Dell’s Insurance are donating their time, wrapping skills, and toys, in order to help make sure that no kid goes without a gift this Christmas – but they can’t do it without the community’s help.
“Last year we collected enough toys to make sure that 119 kids in need had presents under their tree on Christmas morning, which was more than last year’s total. This year, with the economy still struggling, I believe we’ll have even more kids on our list.” said Maggie Cannon, marketing coordinator for Dell’s Insurance and the person heading up the toy drive, “Imagining how a kid would feel after hearing about all the gifts their friends and classmates received, but they didn’t get even one - just makes me so sad.”
Toys are needed by December 12 for boys and girls of all ages up to teenagers. New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off Monday – Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at Dell’s Insurance, 510 Bell Ave. in Alamosa. The gifts will then be wrapped by the Dell’s Insurance Employees and handed out under the supervision of Laurie Rivera of Social Services in Alamosa.
