Alamosa Food Bank receives much needed Thanksgiving surprise

Dell’s Insurance employees are ready to deliver bags of food to the Food Bank

ALAMOSA — The Alamosa Food Bank, located at 513 Sixth Street in Alamosa, was pleasantly surprised with a truckload of food donated by Dell’s Insurance Agency, Inc.’s employees and clients.

Tuesday the 20th, at 7:55 a.m.: In the cool morning sunshine, the employees of Dell’s Insurance Agency, Inc. loaded up with bags full of donated food destined for the Food Bank Network of the San Luis Valley. What couldn’t be carried was placed in the back of a truck. Fully loaded they headed off walking from the Dell’s Insurance office, located at 510 Bell Ave. in Alamosa, East along Sixth Street to the Food Bank at 513 6th Ave. There they met up with the truck loaded with food and helped unload it onto the Food Bank’s shelves.

“Our employees and local clients donated much needed food for the food bank - it was fantastic!” said Julie Chacon, coordinator of the food drive for Dell’s Insurance, “Plus we enjoyed a nice brisk walk for our Dell’s Insurance Fun & Fit Wellness Program. It’s all for a great cause and everyone really enjoyed it.”
