In August of 2005, he worked at a homeless shelter in Alamosa, working on his chapbook, and incorporating it into a larger collection. “The San Luis Valley, for me, is a space where diverse people and varied landscapes can find common ground, and shine on it. Poetry can do that, too. It brings differences into harmony,” Parmenter said. Contact 587-7862.
