On October 28, 2012 at approximately 6:08 a.m. the Alamosa Fire Department was sent to 401 11th Street on a report of smoke and flames coming from the residence. After arriving, firefighters encountered a fully engulfed structure fire and discovered the body of a deceased male in the residence. The Alamosa Police Department and Colorado Bureau of Investigation were summoned and are currently investigating. The identity of the decedent is not being released at this time in order for notifications to be made by the Coronerís Office. The incident is being investigated as both a homicide and arson; no further details can be released at this time due to this being an active investigation.
During the course of this investigation a subject was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Orlando Flavio Rivera of 814 10th Street in Alamosa was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and is being held at the Alamosa County Detention Center on the warrant as well as a parole hold.
