ALAMOSA — Tony Bobicki, Alamosa Fire Department assistant chief, inspects Colton Sutherland’s small sedan sandwiched between two commercial vehicles in front of Apria Healthcare near the corner of Eleventh Street and U.S. Highway 285 on Thursday morning.
“It was a piece of spectacular driving,” said Alamosa Police Department Lt. Duane Oakes.
The driver of the car reportedly steered to the right to avoid a rear-end collision in front of him and somehow avoided hitting one of the commercial vehicles head-on, instead squeezing in between them. No serious injuries were reported and Sutherland was cited with careless driving despite his zippy reaction.
