Joseph Leroy Large, 37



ALAMOSA — Alamosa, Colo. resident Joseph Leroy Large, 37, passed away Nov. 9, 2009 at Penrose Medical Center in Colorado Springs surrounded by his loving family. Joseph was born Feb. 5, 1972 in Pueblo the son of George Large and Priscilla Marez.

Joseph had many hobbies some of which included being a member of Blue Peaks. He enjoyed going bowling, participating in various recreational activities and he was a great fisherman.

Survivors include his parents George E. Large of Alamosa and Priscilla Marez; sisters Maria (Don) Cordova, Rebecca (Dennis) Lujan, Catherine (Jose) Gonzalez and Georganna (Kevin) O’Brien all of Colorado Springs; brothers Paul Large of Alamosa and Chris (Sandra) Large of Colorado Springs as well as by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Joseph was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Moises and Margarita Large and grandparents Filiberto and Marvine Large.

A vigil service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Thur., Nov. 12, 2009 at 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Alamosa. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Fri., Nov. 13, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Interment will follow at Alamosa Cemetery. In lieu of flowers family requests all donations be sent to Blue Peaks Bay Services, 330 State St. Alamosa, CO 81101. Arrangements are in care of Romero Funeral Home of Alamosa.
