ALAMOSA — The San Luis Valley Museum announced winners of the 13th Annual All Valley Art Show featuring young San Luis Valley artists from area schools.

Sierra Grande High School’s Adela Lucero won the best in show, with Omar Gonzalez receiving $250 for the art department. Students from schools throughout the Valley earned honors in various art media including 2D, 3D and photo.

In a special ceremony at the museum earlier this month Dr. David Svaldi, president of Adams State University, announced the winners and randomly drew a school to receive $500 for its art program. Sargent Junior High was the winning school for the cash award. Art teacher Annette Troncoso said she would receive input from the students on how best to use the money.
