ALAMOSA — There is a new, yet familiar, face at the San Luis Valley Small Business Development Center (SBDC). Longtime resident Jeff Owsley is the new director.
Owsley’s family has lived in the Valley for four generations. One of his grandfathers was a co-founder of Kavley’s Men’s Clothing Store, and another started Curtis Brothers Furniture in Alamosa.
Before taking his new position at the SBDC, Owsley served as the director of La Puente Enterprises. “Four enterprises were developed in order to provide support for the services that La Puente provides,” he explained.
“One of the things I like about the Valley,” he continued, “is that the people here work together to help each other.” Owsley went on to explain that the Valley is isolated from other sources of help, “so we have learned how to work together.”
When asked about his ideas for the future of the San Luis Valley SBDC, Owsley answered, “We exist to help small businesses to start, grow, and prosper in the San Luis Valley.”For the complete article see the 10-05-2013 issue.
