Local help available for state’s health insurance exchange

Posted: Friday, Sep 20th, 2013

VALLEY – Three agencies in the San Luis Valley received grant funding to develop physical and mobile assistance sites for Connect for Health Colorado (C4HCO). They will assist people who would like to apply, shop, seek financial assistance and enroll in a plan that is offered in the new state health insurance exchange, also known as the Marketplace. The enrollment period for individuals will be October 1, 2013 – March 31, 2014.

One of the newest Certified Health Coverage Guides is Dennis Lopez with Valley-Wide Health Systems, Inc. (VWHS) who has an office on the Adams State University (ASU) campus. “We have all completed our training and are ready to educate people,” said Lopez. “We are taking appointments to help them walk through the process.”

People can contact any of the guides for assistance and information, as well as go online to www.ConnectForHealthCO.com or phone 855-752-6749 (1-855-PLANS-4-YOU).
