ALAMOSA — Alamosa resident Theresa Rudder was walking out her front door on July 10 and saw a fawn curled up in the shade of the tire of her car. upon closer look, she saw another one under the car.

As she and her husband Jack were deciding what to do, they noticed their neighbor from across the alley was out seemingly looking for something. Theresa Rudder called him over and showed him the fawns. He said he was looking for them. Apparently they had been born in his back yard on Monday and he hadn’t seen the mother since then.

The Rudders left to go on a bike ride and they were still there when they got back. They called dispatch and told them the situation. They sent Officer Bruce Lukow who called the Colorado Parks & Wildlife who advised the Rudders to take the fawns back to where they were born and that the mother would come and find them.

When the Rudders checked later, the fawns were gone, so they hoped their mother came back for them.
