Alamosa seniors will be in Cole Park July 4

Posted: Wednesday, Jul 3rd, 2013

Good morning everyone,

In October the seniors will be taking a Southern Charms trip. We will go down through Georgia and South Carolina. The dates are October 16 through the 22nd. It is going to be a wonderful trip. If you plan on going please contact us right away at 589-3277. We need a down payment of $500 by the middle of July, as we need to get the good rates for the airline tickets.

Tomorrow is the Fourth of July. The Alamosa County’s 100th Celebration is in Cole Park. It will be a great celebration and we hope to see you all here. Don’t forget to enjoy the Kiwanis Breakfast in the SLV Federal parking lot and then the parade down Main Street. Then the activities begin in Cole Park at 12 p.m. noon. There will be bands, food and all kinds of fun. The Alamosa Seniors will run the beer garden. We hope to see you and wish you a fun and safe Fourth of July.

Be sure to come in or call to sign up for the trip to Creede for next Wednesday. We will leave the center at 10:30 a.m. The play is “Around the World in 80 Days.”

The lunches at the senior center have changed. We will now be serving Monday through Thursday. There will be no lunches served on Fridays.

Quote of the week: The United States is the only country with a known birthday!

See you next week.
