April menus shared for Valley senior centers

SAN LUIS VALLEY — Following are the April menus for the senior centers throughout the San Luis Valley. Reservations are required. Call South Central Colorado Seniors at 589-4511 or sign up at the individual meal sites. All meals are served with 1-percent milk, no trans fat and no salt margarine. Margarine is served with bread products. Menus are subject to change.

Monday, April 1 — Sloppy Joe on whole wheat bun, oven fries, creamy coleslaw, Brussels sprouts, tropical fruit cup.

Tuesday, April 2 — Macaroni and cheese, green salad/dressing, sunflower seeds, five-way vegetables, apple/pear, whole wheat crackers.

Wednesday, April 3 — Turkey tetrazzini, Italian green beans, cottage cheese with mandarin oranges, whole wheat bread.

Thursday, April 4 — Half egg salad sandwich, sliced tomato and lettuce, clam chowder, pea salad, pineapple chunks, whole wheat crackers.

Friday, April 5 — Chicken enchilada casserole, Spanish rice, salad/dressing, fruit cocktail, whole wheat crackers.

Monday, April 8 — Oven fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, broccoli, apricots, whole wheat roll.

Tuesday, April 9 — Frito pie, lettuce, tomato, cheese, carrot coins, whole wheat crackers, fruit cocktail.

Wednesday, April 10 — Pot roast with gravy, mashed potatoes, lemon herbed broccoli, apple crisp, whole wheat dinner roll.

Thursday, April 11 — Chili beans, carrot raisin salad, corn, whole wheat tortillas, pineapple cubes, Munster cheese stick.

Friday, April 12 — Spaghetti and meat sauce, herbed green beans with black beans, salad/dressing, garlic bread, sugar cookie, half orange.

Monday, April 15 — Chicken fried steak, country gravy, mashed potatoes, cauliflower/broccoli mix, whole wheat roll, plum halves.

Tuesday, April 16 — Split pea soup/ham, chef’s salad with turkey, apple slices, whole wheat crackers.

Wednesday, April 17 — Baked pork chops with buttered apples, broccoli, whole wheat cracker, peanut butter cookie, mandarin oranges.

Thursday, April 18 — Lasagna, confetti corn, salad/dressing, garlic bread, half orange, one small banana.

Friday, April 19 — Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, asparagus, apricot halves, whole wheat roll.

Monday, April 22 — Lemon baked fish, beets, creamy coleslaw, mandarin oranges, whole wheat bread, sugar cookie.

Tuesday, April 23 — Baked potato with chili and cheese, carrot coins, whole wheat crackers, diced pears.

Wednesday, April 24 — Soft tacos, lettuce, tomato, cheese, calabacitas/zucchini and corn/green chili, Spanish rice, apricots.

Thursday, April 25 — Chicken salad sandwich, whole wheat bread, sliced tomato, lettuce, confetti corn, tomato soup, strawberry applesauce.

Friday, April 26 — Cheeseburger on bun, lettuce, tomato with everything, creamy coleslaw, baked beans, half orange, sun chips.

Monday, April 29 — Potato soup, tuna salad, baked fries, whole wheat crackers, chocolate pudding, one small banana.

Tuesday, April 30 — Tator tot casserole, vegetable medley, tossed salad/dressing, whole wheat bread, plum halves.
