ALAMOSA — Sunshine Christian School presents “The T-Rex Express,” a fun ride on the Rio Grande Railroad to a simulated dig site where kids of all ages can dig for real Mammoth bones on Sunday, March 3.
Ranger Patrick from the Great Sand Dunes National Park will be presenting a program on prehistoric animals of the San Luis Valley and sharing a hands-on experience with those who ride the train. There will be prizes, gifts, and live music by Jim Moon written just for the T-Rex Express, Rexie the T-Rex Mascot, balloons, face painting, and much more.
Call Rio Grande Scenic Railroad at 587-0520 or 877-726-7245, or go on-line and reserve your tickets now.
The school is raising funds to pay for tickets for the PALS (Positive Activities Lift the Spirit), a community service for kids in need, and their sponsors. Though this is a fundraiser for the school it is a fantastic community event that involves services and businesses around the valley and brings in people from all over the state and some from outside Colorado, such as Texas. Anyone wishing to help can send their donations to Sunshine Christian School, 315 Craft Drive, Alamosa 81101 or call Sue at 480-1629 for more information.
