Learn about water

VALLEY A Rio Grande Leaders Course has been organized to provide the opportunity for 20 community members to engage in education and networking to prepare to take a future role in safeguarding, developing, and managing the water resources of the San Luis Valley.

The course will include information on San Luis Valley hydrology, water rights administration, notable court cases, current events, and much more. The course will be held in the evening on March 18th-22nd at the office of the San Luis Valley Water Conservancy District, 623 Fourth Street, Alamosa. Space is limited to 20 and applications are due to the SLVWCD offices or to HeatherRDutton@gmail.com by 5 p.m. on March 1. Applications can be downloaded from rgwcd.org or slvwcd.org, or picked up at 623 Fourth Street in Alamosa.

This special opportunity is being organized by the Rio Grande Water Conservation District, San Luis Valley Water Conservancy District, Rio Grande Watershed Conservation and Education Initiative, and Rio Grande Headwaters Restoration Project.
